Spartans!

On May 16th an entirely new type of sporting competition will be making it's way to the Green Mountains. The first installment of a touring spectacle called 'The Spartan Race' will be held at the Catamount Outdoor Center in Williston. The race is a two mile course with 12 outrageous obstacles built to test ones strength, stamina, and ingenuity. The race will go on throughout the day, with multiple scheduled heats. The race has already been picked up by Discovery Channel for a reality show. Local sponsors include Long Trail and Nectars. While the race will tour major metropolitan areas such as New York, Boston, Toronto, & Montreal, race organizers selected Burlington, VT to kick off the festivities due to the local flavor of the area and our residents.
